Cafe Frappe


Café frappe is one of my favorite in café coffee day. This slushy drink drives me crazy. Many varieties of frappe are available there.
This is one basic and my favorite. Coming days, I will explore the more varieties and try out the recipes.

This is quite easy to make at home and pretty cheap when compared to ccd.

The ratio of the decoction, milk, ice and sugar is purely to individual's taste.
  • Milk – 1/2 cup (Full cream milk)
  • Coffee decoction– 1/2 cup 
  • Sugar – As per your taste
  • Ice cubes – 1/4 cup 

Make decoction as mentioned in the Madras coffee post.

Prepare a strong coffee. You may need some extra sugar than usual as the coffee will be strong.  

Pour the coffee in freezer tray and freeze it overnight. My freezer trays are small, so I poured the reset of the coffee in a tumbler and froze that.
Blend the frozen coffee and ice in a blender. Check for sugar and you can add extra if required. Add some milk too if required. Don’t blend it too smooth. It should be slushy. Pour in the serving glasses, shave some chocolates chips over. Serve immediately.
