Haven Sampoorna - Restaurant review

Born and brought up in Coimbatore.. When I heard the name Haven Sampoorna.. it was sounding like an usual south indian restos that we have been going for years. But when I heard from my cousin that is not an usual place.. then I gave a try few months back.
Yesterday this was our first choice in velachery when it comes to pure veg restarunt.
The ambience is cool and simple. I like the posters struck on the wall not much related to food. One that was catchy is the God father.
The place is not much crowded, so I don’t think we need reservations. It is large enough to accommodate many people.

Dark Chocolate Truffles

Dark chocolate truffles are tempting easy dessert.  This is guilt free dessert too.  I make this quite often to feed my dark chocolate cravings. Sometimes I just eat even the dark chocolate chips as such. These dark choco chips are bought by my friend from UK. Thanks Jagee. When is your next onsite?

Madras Day - Filter Coffee

Madras Day - 22nd August
I love Madras (Now chennai) more than any other place in the world. Initially i had so much hatred towards this city before marriage. But when i had no other chance other than coming here, i started loving it every bit. Each one coming and settling here will have the same feeling as mine.Even now i don’t have any clue about the directions and places after 8 long years, but with all sweet people around, you will never get lost.

Strawberry Frozen Yogurt

In childhood, I always thought how real strawberries would taste like. We had strawberry milk shakes, strawberry flavored chewing gums and other stuff. But I never tasted the real fruit in childhood. Definitely had a fantasy for that fruit. When I got married and came to Chennai, once I saw a box of strawberries and immediately grabbed it. Came home smelt it and tasted it. My long time wish was fulfilled. But then I dint want to finish it the same day and kept it in fridge. They were so sensitive and dint stay even for a day or 2.  So I stopped buying those pricy ones thereafter.

Recently we went to Kandalur, a town near Munnar. There I happened to taste the fresh strawberries. Not the one refrigerated and packed in fruit shops. They were fresh ones. The beauty is we can pluck it with our hands, wipe the dust it our dress and have it right there.

Delhi highway - Restaurant review

This weekend i was too tired to prepare food, after all krishnajayathi preparations. So we thought we will treat ourself with a good veg buffet. I happend to read review of this delhi highway in chennai Food guide. So this was the only restaraunt in mind. Cheked with venk too, he said lets try. I called the resto and asked them the cost for buffet, they said 599 + tax. It was a thali. I thought ok and asked them to reserve a seat for us. The buffet starts by 12. but by the time we reached there it was 1.

Caramel Payasam

I always love desserts.. crave for desserts. (Who dont !!) I will find occsations so make some sweets. But my weight gain is a big speed breaker for this. So nowadays i restrict myself so much and keep away from sweets.

This caremel payasam i heard first time in facebook, i had no clue what that was. But when i knew the method.. phew.. simple one. But tastes unique.
